STRIDE 1: Seek, Treat, Reach to Identify Pretrial Defendants Enhancement Model - Completed

STRIDE was a NIDA-sponsored randomized controlled trial that took place in Washington, DC as a collaboration with the Yale School of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. STRIDE tested the use of buprenorphine (Suboxone) vs. placebo among individuals living with HIV/AIDS and opiate use disorder.

Major Goals: Identify the impact of the use of buprenorphine vs. placebo among individuals living with HIV/AIDS and opiate use disorder. Outcomes of interest included viral loads, physical health, decreased use of opioids, decreased criminal justice involvement.
